Who’s on Your Team?
In a conversation this morning, a friend who’s been walking through some tough health challenges shared part of his journey. We’ll call him Jack. As he put it, “I’ve got this amazing team of doctors and people around me, supporting me every step of the way. I call them my ‘Team Jack.’ They know everything about me and are here to help me beat this.”
That conversation sparked a powerful question: Who’s on your team?
Grab a piece of paper and spend a few minutes reflecting on the list below.
Who’s in your circle that will:
- Push you to chase your dreams?
- Cheer for you from the sidelines?
- Step onto the playing field alongside you?
- Call you out when you go off track?
- Remind you of your why when you start to forget?
- Challenge you to think bigger and aim higher?
- Walk with you through the valleys, not just the victories?
- Speak truth to you, even when it’s hard to hear?
- Celebrate your wins like they’re their own?
- Lend their strength when yours runs low?
- Hold you accountable to the promises you’ve made to yourself?
We all need a team—people who fill these roles and stand with us. It’s obvious when you’re facing a health battle like Jack, but it’s just as essential in everyday life.
As we talked about this here at OrangeBall, Madi made a great point: “None of us could do all of this alone.” She’s right. In the beginning, there were just a few of us doing it all, with some powerful outside cheerleaders. Today, our team has grown. With every new addition, we get stronger, and the challenges feel a little smaller.
So with that in mind, some gratitude…
- We’re thankful for our internal team who shows up every day.
- We’re thankful for our clients who invite us into their organizations.
- We’re thankful for our partners who work alongside us.
- We’re thankful for our family and friends who make this life possible.
We’re thankful for our team.
Now, it’s your turn.
Name the people on your team, and then reach out and let them know how thankful you are for them.
