Seed to Harvest: The Power of Intention
The only way to reap a harvest in the fall is to plant something in the spring.
We’re coming up on harvest season here in Minnesota. Don’t worry… you don’t need to be a farmer to track where we’re going with this OrangeBall Insight.
Drive anywhere outside the Twin Cities and you’ll see it. Lush fields, green crops swaying in the breeze, and acres of food growing to sustain us in the months ahead.
How did those crops get there? Someone planted a seed. Not just one, but thousands of them. All in neat rows. Everything started with that simple act, putting seeds in the ground.
A few months ago, those seeds began to sprout. Now, harvest is around the corner. Every year, the cycle repeats: seeds get planted, crops get harvested. Some years bring rain, others bring drought. Storms destroy what was planted. The basics never change: Plant seeds. Harvest crops.
It leads us to the question… What seeds are you planting right now?
We all want to harvest something great. We want to see growth, watch things flourish, and enjoy the fruits of our labor. But without the labor, there is no crop.
So, what seeds are you planting?
- In your business?
- As a professional?
- In your relationships?
- With your kids?
- Around your physical health?
- Through new hobbies?
- In how you spend?
- In caring for yourself?
The farmer plants with intention. They choose the seed, buy it, plant it, fertilize it, and water it. Every step is deliberate, and growth doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because someone was intentional, or better yet, they paid attention.
So, one last time… What seeds are you planting right now?
If you’re not happy with your response to that question, today is the perfect day to change it. Get intentional, think a little differently, and start planting the kind of seeds that will create the harvest you want.
