Bringing Positivity to 2020

Every year around this time, there’s an air of excitement in our office. It comes from a natural combination of the busy-ness of business and the energy of the holiday season. Today the excitement rose as we opened the package that contains this year’s 8th Annual Bounce calendars for 2020 – it felt like Christmas morning under the tree.

Each year’s calendar comes with a theme. Last year we recognized leaders who challenged the status quo and have impacted the world. This past summer, we started a conversation about what our 2020 theme should be…

There’s a lot going on in the world today. We’ve all been bombarded by the dark noise on the news and experienced the division that’s threatening to tear us apart. It feels like there’s an energy in the world today working to pull us down and separate us.

It can be easy to feel helpless. As individuals, can one person really make a difference? And as businesses, is battling the dark noise our responsibility?

Our answer to both of those questions is simple. Yes.

With that in mind, our 2020 calendar was designed to help lift us up, draw us together, and put the focus on positivity. We went back and channeled one of our favorite core values: Positive on Purpose. As businesses and individuals, we feel like positivity is our calling. We can’t wait for someone else to create it – we (as in you and I) need to be the catalyst for this in our own lives and the lives of our families, friends, and clients.

And so, as we transition from 2019 to 2020, we’ll be sharing some of the ways we can add more positivity to our lives and the lives of others. Each month in the Insights blog we’ll be dedicating one of our weekly posts to a conversation about things that will lift us up from the inside out, and how we can share those things with the people we interact with every day.

Our challenge to each of you reading this is to make positivity your mission for 2020 as well. Bring it into your offices, into your meetings, and to your teams. Bring it to your families, your spouses, and your kids. Bring it to your friends.

Positivity and change begins with each of us and is built on a collection of little things and small actions that add up and gain momentum over time. Positivity is contagious. It’s magnetic. It spreads. And it starts with you.
