Be Good People

“We do good work for good people who are doing good things in the world.”
Jessica Klaustermeier

When OrangeBall was a much younger agency, Jessica shared this statement, and it stuck. It’s become a guiding principle for who we are, how we show up in the world, and the kind of clients we take on as a creative firm. Alongside our purpose and core values, it helps define the direction we’re heading.

It got me thinking this morning… There’s a lot of division out there right now. Let’s be honest and name the elephant in the room: media and politics thrive on that division. The more, the better. “Us vs. them” captures attention, sparks fear, and keeps us glued to the chaos. Division sells, and we’re the ones buying.

But this week, as we reflect on who we are as a nation and where we’re going together, I keep coming back to Jessica’s words from a decade ago. And I find myself asking:

What if we just got back to being good people doing good things?

The division-peddlers don’t want us thinking like that. Good people doing good things don’t make headlines or manipulate fear. They don’t claw for power. They simply do good things for their families, their communities, and their neighbors.

This week, use your freedom for that. Do something good. Let that be your celebration of the Fourth of July.

If you’re reading this, chances are you’re already one of the good ones. If you weren’t, you probably wouldn’t be hanging out here. So go do something good this week.

The world could use more of that right now.
